Deductible or Excess Insurance

Deductible or Excess Insurance

Hull insurance always carries an excess which is usually 5% of the value of the hull.

This deductible percentage can be insured through an insurance called Hull Deduction Insurance.

What does it offer?

The Deductible or Excess Insurance reduces the impact that the application of the deductible means in case of loss when proceeding with the indemnity.

It consists of placing, in a specific and very specialized market, the percentage of deductible in question to reduce the existing one. For example, if we have a hull value of 2,000,000 Euros and an excess of 5% of that value, i.e. an excess of 100,000 Euros, the excess insurance will allow us to place (insure) 2.5% of the excess in that other specific market in exchange for a premium.

Thus, we will have reduced to 5,000 Euros the deductible of that aircraft.

Who needs it?

Those who take outHull Insurance and want to reduce the excess applied in the event of a claim because it is still too high.
